Pendant Lamp Workshop: Make Your Own Functional Ceramic Lamp

Create a one-of-a-kind working pendant lamp from earthenware clay! In this two-session workshop, you'll design and build a ceramic lampshade, glaze it with your favorite finish, then return after firing to transform it into a beautiful, functioning light fixture for your home.

No pottery experience is needed. You'll be guided through every step, and all materials, firing, and electrical components are included.

Session One • September 13th 2pm

Build & Glaze

We'll hand-build your pendant lampshade from earthenware clay using simple techniques that allow plenty of room for creativity. Add carved patterns, textures, cutouts, or keep it beautifully minimal. Before leaving, you'll glaze your piece in the color of your choice.

Your lampshade will then be professionally kiln-fired.

Session Two • October 18th 2pm

Assembly Day

Your finished ceramic shade will be waiting for you! We'll admire everyone's fired work before assembling each lampshade into a fully functioning pendant light using an easy-to-install lamp kit. You'll leave with a completed lamp that's ready to hang at home.
